There are no set rules. You'll probably choose those affiliate programs which pay out at least 4% on consumer products like TVs and games units. Digital products such as e-books and software programs may pay out 50% or more! 25% is usual for financial services. Insurance agencies can give you $5 merely for a name and address, without selling anything, and $70 if the prospect buys insurance. You may be surprised at some of the companies that offer affiliate programs, even giant ones, like Sony, Walmart, Argos, Sears...

"Shall I require anything else?"

Persistence. Don't expect miracles right away. It can need some effort and time from you, but success will come to you for certain. The amount of your success is usually commensurate with your hard work in the early months. In due course, your venture will achieve critical mass and start to snowball.
