"How much commission will I be rewarded with?"

It can vary significantly. You'll very likely aim for those affiliate programmes that pay at least 4% for consumer products such as televisions and games units. Digital goods such as ebooks and software programs could pay 50% or higher! 25% is widespread for financial products. Insurance companies could pay you $5 merely for a prospect, without actually selling anything at all, and $70 if the prospect buys insurance. You may be surprised at some of the businesses that run affiliate schemes, even giant ones, such as Sears, Sony, Walmart, Argos...

"Is there anything else I will require?"

Patience. Don't expect miracles right away. It may take some time and effort from you, but success will come to you for sure. The measure of your success will likely be reflected by your enthusiam in the first months. In the end, your endeavour will achieve critical mass and begin to snowball.
