The short answer is "Yes", but it needs to be explained. The easiest way to make income on the Internet is by promoting services or products offered by other businesses. This is called "Affiliate Marketing". You become an affiliate of the product manufacturer or service supplier, and they pay you money as a commission on anything you sell for them.

What will it cost to be an affiliate? Nothing! Only the time taken to uncover a few good affiliate services or products. Search the Web for "???? affiliate program" (where "????" is your chosen topic of interest). When you've discovered several you like, sign up for them. (You may be required to give a website URL for them to confirm. Don't fret if you don't have one; We will overcome this in just a second.) After they have approved you, go to their 'banners' or 'creatives' page and select an appropriate banner. Copy the banner code and paste this into your web site pages wherever you would like the banner to appear. That's it! Now, when someone clicks on the banner and purchases a service or product, you will be awarded a fee.

If that is too tiresome for you, there exists, luckily, a faster way. Join up with several of the "affiliate trackers". These are organizations that see to the affiliate sales tracking and commission payments for many suppliers. You can pick and choose the businesses that are of interest to you from their inventory. They also inform you each time a new business joins their system. This spares you the time spent on searching for suppliers, but the banner job still must be done. A few affiliate tracking sites are LinkShare.com, ShareASale.com, AffiliateFuture.co.uk, WebGains.com, LinkConnector.com, Buy.at, AffiliateWindow.com, CommissionJunction.com.

If you discover all that too demanding to undertake, there's an even less complicated and quicker method. In fact, it is probably impossible to find any method for making money less complicated and quicker to start up than ClickBank + "Automated Ads". ClickBank is an affiliate monitoring company that handles only digital products, that is, products that may be downloaded through the supplier's web site straight away as soon as they have been purchased, like software programmes, e-books, videos, and so forth. Just follow this procedure: (1) Sign up for membership at ClickBank to be an affiliate by clicking on the link near the top of the column at the left. (It is not necessary to provide a website address.) The cost? Nothing. (2) Join up for the "Automated Ads" lifetime membership by clicking on the banner at the top of the column at the right. The cost? Nothing. (3) View the "Automated Ads" training video tutorials. (4) For those who do not have a website online, get a blog in a few minutes at WordPress.com, and then view the "Automated Ads" WordPress video lesson. The cost? Nothing.

After just about an hour's effort, you should have banner ads on your web pages or blog like the tall one in the left column on this page. Any time a visitor arrives at or refreshes the page, the banner advert changes randomly between the top-selling ClickBank products from the category you chose. (In this case, it was 'E-Business and E-Marketing'.) This random display is controlled by the "Automated Ads" software, and always displays the most successful products.

The products on the right are also ClickBank items, but they do not change. We have hard-coded them into this page, because we feel that one or more of them could be helpful to people who read this article. We have looked at their product sales web pages, and, based on them, deem them worthwhile to take a look at. We can vouch for only those that we use ourselves, which are 'Micro Niche Finder', 'Elite Article Marketing Tools', 'Easy Video Player' and 'Automated Ads'. These tools are a big help if you are determined about making significant cash in Internet marketing.

After you are ready to go, either with your web page or WordPress blog, you'll need to draw visitors to it. In the sphere of Internet marketing, visitors are described (somewhat indecorously) as "traffic". Pulling traffic to your site is the trickiest part of Internet marketing, but there are numerous ways of doing it. "What commission will I be paid?"

There's no hard and fast rule. You'll very likely want to associate with those affiliate programs which pay a minimum of 4% for consumer goods like TVs and games consoles. Digital goods such as e-books and software programs might pay 50% or more! 25% is common for financial products. Insurance agencies can pay you $5 just for a sales prospect, without selling anything at all, and $70 if the prospective customer purchases insurance. You may be surprised at some of the organisations that run affiliate programs, even giant ones, such as Sears, Sony, Argos, Walmart...

"Is there something else I will require?"

Patience. Do not count on riches overnight. It may take a little time and effort on your part, but results will happen to you for certain. The amount of your success is normally proportional to your hard work in the first months. Sooner or later, your creation will reach critical mass and begin to snowball. Thereafter it is going to be hard to prevent the money rolling into your bank account. Good fortune!
