How much does it cost to become an affiliate? Nothing! Merely the time to research some great affiliate services or products. Search the Web for "???? affiliate program" (where "????" is your chosen subject of interest). When you've found a few you want, sign up with them. (You may be required to provide a web site address for them to check. Don't be concerned if you do not possess one; We will handle this in just a moment or two.) Once they have approved you, go to their 'banners' or 'creatives' section and pick an appropriate banner. Copy the banner code and paste this into your web pages everywhere you want the banner to be displayed. That's all there is to it! With approximately an hour's effort, you should have banner adverts on your web pages or blog like the tall one in the left column on this page. Every time a visitor hits or refreshes the page, the banner ad rotates randomly among the most popular ClickBank products from the category you selected. (In this case, it was 'E-Business and E-Marketing'.) This random showing is controlled by the "Automated Ads" software, and always displays the most successful products.

An important fact to bear in mind is that anything you buy at ClickBank is refundable during the first 60 days. This guarantee is imposed on merchants by the ClickBank system, whether they like it or not. Your payment will therefore be reimbursed if you don't keep the item.

"How much commission will I be paid?"

There are no rules. You will very likely aim for those affiliate programs which pay a minimum of 4% for consumer goods such as TV sets and games units. Digital products such as e-books and software can pay out 50% or more! 25% is common for financial products. Insurance companies can give you $5 just for supplying a name and address, without selling anything at all, and $70 if the prospect buys an insurance policy. You may be surprised at some of the corporations that operate affiliate programmes, even giant ones, like Sony, Argos, Sears, Walmart...

"Is there anything else I shall require?"

Patience. Do not anticipate results overnight. It might need a little time and effort on your part, but success will happen to you for certain. The amount of your success will likely be proportional to your diligence in the first months. Ultimately, your endeavour will attain critical mass and start to snowball.
